In the village of Chimachoy, my team and I have been given the opportunity to do house visits and pray over the hurting families there.

My first house visit was with a wonderful grandma. She welcomed me and my two teammates with me into her home. She was so sweet and showed us around, asked why we were there, and spoke to us some history of her family and the village of Chimachoy. We told her and her family that we are missionaries simply sharing the love of Christ and praying over people. She responded by asking for prayer for the pain in her eyes and stomach. So we did.

They took us to their bed room where the grandmother got on her knees and bowed her head. There rest of her family there, her 4 daughters and granddaughter, joined in prayer too. It was beautiful moment of prayer filled with the Holy Spirit. They are a humble family.

We soon left and returned another day. This time just Cheeka and I. Martina was happy to see us. During our visit, Martina brought up her niece that was also needing praying and asked us to go visit her. Her niece had been unable to walk for 6 months. I told that her we have time right now and she her granddaughter led the way to her house.

We were taken there and asked to wait in their bedroom. Eventually, Martina’s daughter, carried in her niece and we heard her story.

She was a carrying a log down from the mountain and she had twisted her ankle and damaged it so badly that she has been unable to walk for 6 months. It has affected her to the point that she became depressed and saddened. She struggled to care for herself, physically and mentally. There was also an unexplainable coldness to her body. She had to sleep in a certain position in order avoid the pain. It was after hearing these things that we began to pray for healing and lay hands on her foot.

Cheeka asked if she believed God could heal her. She said yes. We prayed 4 times and after each prayer we asked her to get up and walk. She was hesitant at first. There was fear that it might be too painful. I told her to walk by faith. And she soon realized there was less pain. And it was so, after each prayer and each walk, she felt less and less pain until there was none left.

We left and returned about another week later. This time we gave her crutches and a boot for her foot. Miraculously, the crutches and boot were the perfect size.

It was amazing because about 2 months before, Cheeka had fractured her foot and was unable to walk. She had gone to the doctor and received crutches and a boot. Her healing came speedily. And within a month after the injury had no more need for these. Remembering she still had them, gave them to the niece who is now walking on her own without anyone’s help. She is filled with joy and continues to walk. She gives all the glory to God.

Also, I have a little over $5,000 left to raise by the end of this month. This is my final financial goal, to be at $18,700. Here is a link to my giving page. Please be in prayer for how God might be asking you to support me and keep me on the field. If I do not make the goal, I will get sent back home and be unable to finish the race with my squad. Thank you!

  1. What a story brother! One thing leads to the next opportunity to pray, ask a question, listen, respond, believe for healing and DO/ BE the Gospel 24/7.

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

    Great stuff Elijah!
