Living on a mountain has it’s challenges. One of which was local transportation. Yet God used even that to speak to me.

Local transportation is something the Lord used to stretch my faith. My team and I lived on a mountain in the village of Chimachoy in Guatemala, about a 20 minute drive from Paramos, the nearest town. This is if you are not using public transportation.

It would take anywhere from an hour and a half to 30 minutes or less to get to Paramos from Chimachoy. If it’s Paramos to Chimachoy however, it could take hours (vans pass by every 30-40min) especially in the evening after 6pm because local transportation would supposedly stop at 6, sometimes 7, and sometimes 5:30 in evening. That’s Guatemala.

Leading a team of 6 kept my mind focused on getting the team home anytime we stayed out late. I didn’t like not knowing if we were going to find a ride or not. Yet, every single evening the Lord provided a ride back home. Not just once or twice, but every single time. No matter how late it was in Paramos.

And when my faith grew in this, worry left me. I no longer thought about the possibility of if God would provide a ride home, but stood firmly knowing that a ride is coming and coming soon. With all honesty, there was never a night that we were without a ride.

We have received rides from strangers of all kinds, in which we now call friends. My team has been picked up by a mother and her son in their mini van. We have received lifts from the local police (very kind policemen there). We have received rides from locals in the village, even kind strangers who simply want to be a blessing. And after every ride we would bless these people with some money even when they asked for nothing. We would end every interaction with prayer, asking if we could lay hands on them. Every single answer was a yes.

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:28,30,34.

Also, consider supporting me financially. God is moving in the hearts of people around the world. Many of which are so close to giving their life to Christ. God is using my squad and I to give them that final nudge they need to believe. So, please consider giving to keep me on the field. Help me reach $18,700 by the end of this month. $3,786 left to go. You can give here

To God be all the glory, honor, and praise. Amen.

  3. Great update, my friend. He is faithful and true, he will never leave us or forsake us, he’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother, and one of my favorite ones you reminded me of this morning was from king David, when he said, “I was young, and now I am old, I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken, or his seed begging bread. “

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!”
