Everyday God provides so much for my team and I. I have a hard time keeping track of it all.

The Spirit is alive and active in 247, which is name of my team. Last night, a squad leader and member of my team, Aaron led team time and feedback. This is a time in the day where the whole team gets to intentionally spend time with one another and call each other higher and give constructive criticism. Aaron led us with an activity to listen to God.

He assigned each of us a number without us knowing what that number was. Each person had their number written on a sheet of paper. When each person received a paper with a number, we all went and sought the Lord for what to write on it because afterwards we were to return the paper to Aaron who would then give it to the person assigned that number. I can honestly say this was probably the best teamtime activity we have done. Not just because of the activity, but because we all sought the Lord and heard from Him! It was amazing!! When everyone had finished writing what God was speaking them, we handed them to Aaron who then gave each slip of paper to the person assigned the number written on it. Everyone was amazed and tears were shed. God had spoken to all of us through all of us.

It’s amazing what will happen when you make room for the Lord. Lexy, one of the girls on my team, received a word from the Lord for me without knowing it. So cool! The vision that God gave to her was a bowling ball rolling down a tunnel lit with purple light. There was a light at the end of the tunnel and the ball was rolling quickly towards it. She asked the Lord what it meant, and the focus was led directly towards the light. The Lord spoke to her saying that I am really focused on who I want to become and where I would like to be in life, but as I look to that, my tunnel vision is making me miss out on some of the things He has for me right now. After that, the Lord spoke to her the words ,”Be vigilant.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

The Lord is teaching me to enjoy the current season I am in even though I am eager to get to where He has called me. I’m learning to lose this tunnel vision and take hold of what God has surrounded me with, that is intimacy with my team, sharing Christ in Chimachoy, and growing as a leader in Christ. In all this, I will remain vigilant as God has spoken through my friend Lexy.

I am so proud to be part of a team that heeds the voice of God and does not neglect His word. Even if it’s for someone else, and they don’t understand it. Such godly individuals.

To God be the power, the glory, and the honor forever. Amen.

  1. Brother Elijah, what a beautiful team activity your team had. I am so glad is speaking to you, teaching you, guiding you, using you for the glory of His name.
    Keep it up bro!
Keep being that blessing to those around you.

Miss you and hope to see you soon,
    Kevin

  2. Glad to hear how you and the team are investing time in seeing how God is working in and through you all. May you all enjoy the whole process of ministry and not get bogged down in the drudgery of “doing ministry”. Goals are good, but not if they distract from what God wants you to recognize and learn here and now. Jia Yo! Jia Yo!

  3. What a great word of knowledge and word of wisdom Lexi had for you my brother. Yeah God is so good to build us up in the faith, to use the 66 one another’s in the New Testament like this, to speak truth in life to one another. Like it says in Hebrews chapter 10 “to provoke one another to love and good works.”

247 is a group of serious Christ followers and it is self evident that he is working in you, through you, around you, and in spite of you.
Whoever Peter was in the last comment must be a Mandarin speaking brother when he said- Jia Yo
Same same to ya- continue to go for it!
